SSSIO volunteers from the New South Wales (NSW) Region commemorated the 95th year of Advent of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba with many events. The celebration started with SSSIO volunteers from NSW Region West practicing Ceiling on Desires for 95 days and utilizing the savings to purchase 2,800 birthing kits which help to prevent fatalities and infections during childbirth. On December 5, 90 volunteers assembled the birthing kits – for distribution to women giving birth in underdeveloped countries across the world. This initiative has been a part of the regional service activities for the last three years, in partnership with KIT International (formerly Birthing Kit Australia). In addition, the young adults of NSW Region West, in collaboration with Samaritan’s Purse, a not-for-profit charity, collected 72 shoe boxes filled with toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and fun gifts. The items were sent for distribution to children in Cambodia, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, and the Philippines during Christmas 2020.
