The event, themed “Unity of Religions,” began with the Light Meditation, followed by recitation of inspirational quotes, interspersed with religious hymns and songs. Students of the Sathya Sai Centre of Serrano led the songs, including the touching song, The Sweet Taste of the Flower, rendered in Portuguese, exalting the founders of different faiths. The parents and grandparents of several students gave presentations on their respective religions. One student’s grandmother discussed Judaism in simple, loving terms, displayed a few objects of ritual, and ended with a devotional prayer.
