On 21st December 2013, about 20 Sathya Sai volunteers from the Arcadia, Glendale and Hollywood Centres distributed 300 blankets and packets containing food and water, between 9:30 and 11:00 pm, to the homeless sleeping on the streets of downtown Los Angeles. A young adult remarked that it was both transformational and touching to see how people were so happy just to receive a warm blanket or some food and water, on a cold winter night.

On 20th December 2013, about 125 people attended a health awareness seminar in Muscat organised by the SAI Group. Medical professionals provided information on conscious, comprehensive and holistic approach towards health, screening tests for common health problems, dental care, diabetes, blood pressure and heart problems. Bhagawan’s 88th Birthday Celebrations in Japan

Swami’s 88th Birthday has profound significance for Japanese devotees, since “88” is pronounced as “Baba,” or “Haha,” meaning “mother” in Japanese. About 170 people attended Bhagawan’s Birthday celebrations at the Tokyo Sathya Sai Centre. 88th Birthday Celebrations in Taiwan

On 17th November 2013, 120 people attended a two-hour programme in Chinese at the Taipei City Council Hall to celebrate the 88th Birthday of Bhagawan and the 17th anniversary of SSEHV in Taiwan. After a 20-minute presentation on SSEHV, Chinese students from the Sri Sathya Sai Kindergarten and SSE children performed a drama titled “Sweet Gift” and sang human-values songs. Read More

Fibroid Surgeries in Guyana

The need for uterine fibroids surgeries was first brought to the attention of the SSIO of Guyana in August 2012 following the Divine Showers Youth Convention, which was attended by His Excellency Donald Ramotar, President of Guyana. At the President’s urging, arrangements for the services of an international medical team of Sathya Sai devotees from the USA were finalised in early 2013 in close cooperation with government authorities.
