On May 6, 2023, a Medical Camp was organized in Lauro de Freitas, Bahia, Brazil, at ACCABEM, a shelter for elderly individuals and a daycare center for children. Organized by the SSSIO of Brazil and led by Dr. Eduardo Barbosa, free medical care was offered in various specialties, embodying Sathya Sai Baba’s principle: “Love all, serve all.”
The camp featured 18 doctors, 3 psychologists, and 10 medical students who gave consultations in otorhinolaryngology, orthopedics, neurology, pediatrics, geriatrics, and psychology. Patients requiring further care were referred to Hospital Santo Antônio for follow-up treatment. Simultaneously, children participated in workshops promoting human values through art and music, led by Fabiana Hussein, National Coordinator of Sai Spiritual Education.
The event began with prayers at 7:45 a.m., and 215 people were served by 20 SSSIO members and 40 other volunteers. Rotary Club members also helped organize the camp with donations and event logistics. The initiative highlighted love and service as a means of honoring divinity in all.
