To commemorate Easwaramma Day 2023, five Sathya Sai Schools in Trinidad and Tobago organized their first Walk for Values and Environmental Fair on May 6, 2023. The event’s theme was Building Communities of Character, One Step at a Time; the goal was to create awareness of the critical need for human values in Longdenville and its surroundings, an at-risk community ridden by violent crime. Over 350 individuals from several organizations took part in the event. Residents and people from local businesses also came out and supported the Walk.
Participants took individual pledges to uphold values leading to personal transformation, which, in turn, can spread to families and the community. The event concluded at the National Headquarters of the SSSIO, Trinidad & Tobago, with a fun family day focused on human values games, environmental activities, and a healthy meal featuring traditional local cuisine.
