On 27th October 2018, eleven people were killed, and six wounded at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the deadliest mass shooting perpetrated on a Jewish community in US history. To honour the victims of the shooting, the Jewish Community Centre of Squirrel Hill held “An Interfaith Celebration through Song” on 2nd December 2018. A few Young Adults from the Sathya Sai Centre of Pittsburgh participated in the interfaith service and presented two devotional songs in Sanskrit and an English song titled, “God of Love”. More than 400 people attended the two-hour event during which the community expressed solidarity in the face of the horrific tragedy, and experienced the healing comfort of knowing that, in the end, love will always triumph over hatred.
