Nearly 300 SSIO members from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan came together to serve the needy in the middle of March 2019. Filled with a joyful sense of service, the volunteers prepared hot food, tea, coffee, sweet pastries, fruits and vegetables and lovingly distributed the items to 1,550 needy people near temples, train stations, shelters, garages, shops, markets and courtyards. In some countries, volunteers also distributed clothing, ready-made food kits and essential household items. The recipients, many of whom were experiencing the love of SSIO volunteers for the first time, thanked the volunteers profusely. They interacted with the volunteers, shared their life difficulties and were eager to learn about the values that motivated the volunteers to serve so selflessly.
