There is a water shortage in Nigeria, affecting many needy villagers. In May 2019, the Sukhino Well was drilled and inaugurated in a village near Aklpnazyi, 200 km from Minna, the capital of Niger State. Donated by two SSIO members from Switzerland, the well supplies water to around 30,000 people in the arid region. This is the second major service project implemented in Niger State by SSIO members from Europe. The first project was the construction of a primary school in a very poor village near Kontagora in 2018.
