Varallo Pombia is a municipality in the Province of Novara in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 100 km northeast of Turin. On 28th April 2019, 20 SSIO volunteers organised the first-ever Peace Music Festival at the Mother Sai House, the headquarters of SSIO of Italy, in Varallo Pombia to underscore the importance of peace. About 100 people attended the festival, including the guest of honour, Mr. Alberto Pilone, the mayor of Varallo Pombia. The festival featured musical artists of different backgrounds and cultures, including classical, jazz, Latin, and Indian music. The programme ended with all the musicians jointly singing the famous song by John Lennon, Imagine, in perfect harmony, which drew thunderous applause from the audience.
