The SSIO of Ecuador observed Sathya Sai Aradhana Mahotsavam (Offering of Love to Sathya Sai) on 24th April 2017, with devotional and service activities in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The devotional programme, held at the home of a SSIO member, included spiritual talks, personal reflections, songs, and discussion of Baba’s teachings. Participants shared their individual experiences of how Baba’s teachings had transformed their lives. One person commented, “I was intolerant of everything non-Catholic; Now I learned to accept and love different names and forms of the Divine and to understand that all religions and beliefs have a common teaching based in love and unity.”

Sathya Sai members rendered service at the López Bermejo children’s shelter in Guayaquil, an institution dedicated to caring for needy family members of patients undergoing cancer treatment at a local hospital. Sathya Sai devotees served food and distributed personal hygiene items to the hungry and homeless visitors at the shelter. With the help of the facility staff, the volunteers organised several children’s activities, such as painting, music, and devotional prayers. The SSIO resolved to continue this project to serve the shelter residents.
