Jakopovac is a village of about 108 inhabitants, about 20 km from the town of Bjelovar. Many elderly residents do not have access to the nearest hospital, as they cannot afford bus tickets. On 20th November 2017, volunteers from the Sathya Sai Centre in Bjelovar, including a doctor and a physiotherapist, travelled to the village to conduct a free medical camp. The doctor examined 10 elderly villagers, and the volunteers helped transfer an elderly lady requiring urgent medical intervention, to the Bjelovar hospital. The physiotherapist offered massage services to a few villagers – their first experience of massage therapy. Volunteers also distributed over 30 kg of tangerines, tea, biscuits and household goods.
