SSSIO New Zealand held an Easter program in Auckland on Good Friday, featuring a chanting of the hymn, Alleluia, and the carrying of the Cross. The group of 41 members, including three young adults and three teens, was reminded of Swami’s statement about the meaning of the cross, as a symbol. The Deputy National Council President of SSSIO New Zealand, Mark Connell, addressed the importance of cutting down the ego. The men participated in a drama illustrating Jesus calming the storm on a boat on the Sea of Galilee. A quiz was held, and participants were given the opportunity to light a candle and make their offerings at the foot of the cross. The children were treated to an Easter egg hunt, and the program concluded with tea and hot cross buns. The event was a day of reflection, fun, and upliftment for everyone present.
