In Russia, two distinct Mahashivaratri celebrations brought Sai communities together. In the Urals, a first-time children’s festival utilized storytelling, interactive activities, and practical demonstrations to engage youngsters in sacred practices. It led to the youth’s better understanding of the teachings about Lord Shiva and the significance of the festival. A group recitation of sacred mantras and the creation of Rudraksha bead rosaries ended the festivities, fostering a stronger community spirit and spirituality. Meanwhile, in Moscow, the four-hour event attracted a diverse crowd of about 100 people. Speakers discussed the festival’s significance, highlighting the importance of self-discipline and reflection. Devotional hymns interspersed with engaging talks and periods of quiet reflection fostered a deep sense of inner peace. The evening ended with the distribution of consecrated food. Both celebrations showcased the joy and value of collective group worship to help with the spiritual journey.
