In April/May 2020, 160 Tamil immigrant families in New South Wales faced extreme hardship due to the pandemic-induced lockdown. Between April and mid-October 2020, volunteers donated approximately 1,600 kilograms of rice, lentils, oil, sugar, flour, salt, chickpeas, and milk to two organizations which assist the needy families, namely Tamil Friends of Labour and Tamil Resource Centre. The volunteers donated food and supplies every two weeks, throughout 2020.
