To curb the spread of Coronavirus, the Sri Lankan government issued a ‘Work from Home’ decree and ordered a curfew, starting 17 March 2020. However, volunteers from the Sathya Sai Centres in various within the limits imposed by the authorities.

In the southwestern region of Colombo, Young Adults cooked and served food to the homeless. On 22 March 2020, Sai volunteers distributed dry ration packs to 27 needy families of daily wage workers in Mattakkuliya village. The Sathya Sai Centres of the northern and eastern regions distributed dry rations to nearly 110 needy families in their communities and the villages adopted under the Sathya Sai Village Integrated Programme (SSVIP). Upon a request from the Poomalarnthan village (Mannar district), the Sathya Sai Centre in the north central region distributed food to 575 needy families in the village.
