SSSIO organized free medical and dental camps on May 8, 2022, for impoverished patients in two villages in Sri Lanka’s North Central Region. Volunteers from the Katkovalam and Changanai Sai Centers organized blood donation camps which drew 35 blood donors. SSSIO volunteers also care for patients at local hospitals. They provided dry food provisions every month to ease the burden of about 120 severely ill patients from the Vavuniya Government Hospital clinic. SSSIO volunteers arranged for 130 free cataract surgeries at the Killinochchi and Jaffna Government Hospital and provided patient transportation and meals. They also assisted distressed families of critical patients in Colombo and Galle in the Western and Southern regions.

Sai volunteers responded to the urgent need for critical medicines by delivering three types of essential medications to three government hospitals in the Matale District in central Sri Lanka. Sai volunteers also delivered 100 vaccines to the Government Hospital in Mannar to prevent heart attacks.

The Ladies Wing of the Central Region in Sri Lanka continues to provide prenatal and postnatal care to women and immunization and medical care for infants. They provide special milk powder to a mother and essential supplies for newborns to five women monthly. Volunteers also delivered dry ration packs to 25 patients needing long-term treatment at a children’s hospital in Colombo.
