On 28th November 2018, the Sathya Sai Human Values School in Funza, Colombia was awarded the highly acclaimed “Country Builders in Educational Environments” prize by a major national newspaper: El Espectador in partnership with the Pontifical Xavierian University, the European Union, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
The recognition highlights the efforts of educational institutions that contribute to creating an environment of peace in classrooms as well as social growth, and transformation among its pupils. Chosen from among 269 nominees from 26 departments and 106 municipalities across the country, the award is an endorsement of the School’s mission to engender to a novel vision for education and foster an inclusive, diverse and equitable nation.
