National Tree Day is a nationwide community tree planting event with emphasis on the planting of trees and shrubs to beautify and restore the environment and to increase wildlife habitat and biodiversity. Over the past few years, the SSIO of Australia has been actively taking part in this event. Between 13th and 28th July 2019, hundreds of volunteers including Young Adults and SSE children from various regions across Australia planted about 10,000 trees. The participants were happy to join in such a rewarding national event, which also represented a wonderful opportunity for the children to enjoy nature and appreciate the importance of protecting our environment.
