During Christmas 2016, the Sathya Sai Centre of Karlsruhe included Christmas songs in its regular devotional programme, and on 22nd December, more than 10 people decorated the altar at the centre with nativity scenes. Members engaged in a study circle discussing the true meaning of Christmas in light of Sai Baba’s teachings, which matched the writing of the 17th century German mystic, Angelus Silesius, who said, “In case Jesus would be born a thousand times in Bethlehem but not in yourself – you would be lost a thousand times.”
On 10th December 2016, the Sathya Sai Group in Cologne organised a Christmas programme that included carols and meditation. On Christmas Eve, Sathya Sai followers in Munich celebrated Christmas by singing carols, hearing a lecture on the Bible, and watching a video of Swami during Christmas celebrations in Prasanthi Nilayam.
