The SSIO of Trinidad and Tobago organises programmes every year for escorting visually-impaired persons to Mayaro Beach, for a day of fun and relaxing activities. On 19th March 2016, the Blind Welfare Association hosted a special event for 165 SSIO volunteers and others at the Easwaramma Sai Centre in Penal, South Trinidad, to express gratitude and appreciation for their friends in service.

The programme consisted of opening prayers, a welcome address, devotional singing by 30 visually-impaired persons, a short discourse by Sri Sathya Sai Baba read in Braille, and an informative talk on blindness awareness by a Welfare Rehabilitation Officer of the Blind Welfare Association. Two cultural presentations raised spirits in a festive atmosphere.
