Members of the SSIO in Oman celebrated Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s 89th Birthday by undertaking various activities during November 2014. On 21st November, 300 people attended a programme which included a video presentation on service projects, a performance by SSE children on human values, and Qawali songs about Bhagawan. On 23rd November, all seven Sathya Sai centres of Oman organised devotional programmes, attended by 50–75 SSIO members at each centre. Among other activities in late 2014, on 5th December, SSE children presented a two-hour cultural programme to more than 600 people in Salalah. In the Sohar region, Sathya Sai volunteers served food to 250 low-income workers at industrial camps in November. In Muscat, about 280 people attended a health awareness camp on 14th November, and Sathya Sai volunteers served food to 200 people in December. In addition, new shirts were distributed to 150 labourers, and groceries were distributed to needy Omani families and foreign workers in November.

More than 100 members of the SSIO of Dubai organised a blood donation camp in cooperation with the Dubai Blood Donation Centre on 21th March 2014. Eighty-three blood donations were recorded and all donors and participants were served tea, snacks and fruits by Sathya Sai volunteers. The Dubai Blood Donation Centre is a major blood bank of the United Arab Emirates and collects over 50 percent of the blood donated in the country. It is the only blood supplier in Dubai which provides services to Thalassemia patients, road accident and burn victims, maternity patients with complications, and cancer patients or patients undergoing open heart surgeries.
On 8th February 2014, 239 Sathya Sai devotees and others attended a play titled “Sant Meera” at the Sathya Sai Mandir in Dubai. The two-hour programme depicting the life of Saint Meera was presented beautifully by 13 SSE children, through song, dance and dialogue. Read More →
On 20th December 2013, about 125 people attended a health awareness seminar in Muscat organised by the SAI Group. Medical professionals provided information on conscious, comprehensive and holistic approach towards health, screening tests for common health problems, dental care, diabetes, blood pressure and heart problems.
