On April 26, 2025, with cold winds swirling and frigid temperatures, devotees of the Pickering and Durham Sai Centers gathered with warmth in their hearts and a shared mission—to plant 60 trees in service to Mother Earth. This meaningful initiative was held in observance of the 100th Birthday celebrations of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
Though the wind was strong and the chill was biting, the volunteers’ spirit was even stronger. Guided by Swami’s teachings on selfless service and love for nature, devotees of all ages arrived equipped with gloves, shovels, and smiles, ready to transform a cold morning into one of warmth and purpose.
As families, youth, and elders worked side by side, each planted tree became a tribute to Swami’s enduring message of unity, love, and environmental stewardship. The laughter of children, the gentle rhythm of bhajans, and the collective joy of service filled the air, turning a blustery day into a celebration of community and devotion.
By the end of the day, 60 trees were planted and stood tall, each one symbolizing faith, dedication, and the collective effort to care for our planet—a truly fitting offering in honor of Swami’s centenary.
This activity was more than a service project; it was an act of love, a lesson in perseverance, and a powerful reminder that, with Swami’s grace, even the coldest winds cannot deter hearts warmed by devotion.
