Inspired by Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s message of selfless service, members of the SSSIO Women’s Wing of Region 6 (Pacific Northwest of the United States) made 100 blankets for toddlers as an offering to commemorate Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s 100th Birthday. The initiative was started by a single member who hoped to serve in a way she could— by knitting. Fueled by her goal of knitting 100 blankets, the Sai community partnered with a Seattle-based non-profit organization that supported families going through financial hardship by providing clothing and hygiene products. The program brought together 40 women to learn loom knitting, creating a sense of community as participants knitted in small groups in homes or even at the public library. On October 18, 2025, the group gathered to label the blankets, assemble gift bags, and reflect on their personal experiences. Participants shared that as the project unfolded, it strengthened their sense of sisterhood, deepened their connection to the message of love-in-action, and brought a renewed sense of purpose and meaning in their lives. Blankets and gift bags were distributed on November 10, 2025, as part of the 100th birthday offering.

This initiative symbolizes the powerful way love in action can unite a community in service to others.
