SSSIO members of the Greater Boston area have held free health fairs biannually, in April and October, at their newly acquired facility in Lowell, Massachusetts. Each health fair has served about 300 visitors, including many from underserved ethnic communities. Over 25 physicians covering a range of specialties – oncology, cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology, podiatry – generously volunteer their time and expertise at the fair.

Also present are dentists, ophthalmologists, physical/ occupational therapists, and mental health specialists. The health fairs have increasingly drawn medical volunteers outside the Sai community, who learn about the opportunity through their Sai colleagues at work. The fairs have also been well-supported by the local hospital, which provides free diabetes screening and blood tests, and a healthcare agency that sends nursing staff to manage the triage stations and check vitals. Town administrators, including the Mayor, have expressed their deepest gratitude and eagerness to support and collaborate. In addition, the events have been covered by the local media, including a radio station, giving the SSSIO yet another avenue to spread Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s message of love and service to all, not in words but through action.
