On March 17, 2024, SSSIO volunteers cleaned up the coastal areas at Pannai Beach, Jaffna. Services were rendered by 45 eager volunteers, including 30 Sai devotees, Velanai Pradeshya Sabha members, local government representatives, and other volunteers. Pannai Beach is notable for its adjacent recreational grounds and its connection to the main A9 highway. The volunteers collected 80-90 bags of plastic bottles, polythene, glasses, and tins over approximately two and a half hours. The collected waste was sorted and handed over to the Municipal Council for proper disposal. Youth participants engaged in discussions on public awareness of environmental issues and future initiatives.

On the same day, members of the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Vadamaradchy cleaned up the beach at Akkarai Village. The effort involved 30 Sai volunteers, 21 villagers, and 16 urban council members. They spent more than three hours collecting three tractor loads of garbage, mostly plastics with a few glass bottles. Members of the Urban Council were pleased by the volunteers’ dedication and efforts, emphasizing the importance of continuing such activities to maintain a clean environment.
