On May 20, 2023, seven Sai volunteers, including two SSE children from the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Louisville, Kentucky, partnered with a local organization, Louisville Grows, to plant twenty trees around the Chickasaw neighborhood. Louisville Grows aims to make low-income urban areas greener and more environmentally healthy. They guided Sai volunteers in planting the trees and discussed their environmental benefits. By the end, exhausted but immensely gratified, the group had planted twenty trees. Residents thanked the volunteers, who were happy to spend time helping the community.

One volunteer reflected, “The saplings will eventually grow into trees and purify the air. We also planted a little more sensitivity in our hearts to revere, protect, and nurture our environment.”
