From 26th January to 1st February 2018, the SSIO organised several human values-based events, including training of instructors and parenting workshops led by Dr. Pal Dhall, Co-Chair of the SSIO Education Committee. Facilitators at the Sathya Sai Institute of Human Values received a two-day training course. The participants enjoyed the course, as it gave them a perspective complementing the training they had received in their diploma courses. A one-day training focusing on children, parents and teachers was conducted for the principal and teachers of the Sathya Sai School in Funza, a town near Bogotá.
Gimnasio Moderno is a private school that provides educational and administrative support to the Sathya Sai School in Funza. A meeting with the principal and other members of the educational community was organised at this school to discuss education in human values. The principal of the school expressed interest to initiate training in human values for the board of directors, teachers and parents of the school. Thereafter, about 100 parents attended a workshop for parents of the students at the Gimnasio Moderno school.
Colegio Sai in Funza includes a group of facilitators who have completed the diploma course at the Sathya Sai Institute of Human Values. It also offers a monthly workshop for parents. The facilitators attended a meeting with the SSIO Education Committee, and 150 people attended a public conference on leadership at the Sathya Sai Institute of Human Values.
