Medical Service in Brazil

On 18th March 2017, more than 80 children from a nursery school and Mother Nildete Orphanage were given instruction on oral hygiene and received individual kits containing a toothbrush, toothpaste, and soap. They were then lovingly guided through an SSEHV activity and a collective project.

On 22nd June, the SSIO organised a free health check-up for underprivileged residents of Palmeiras, in Bahia, who received healthcare in otorhinolaryngology, neurology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, dentistry, ultrasound, gynaecology, psychology, physiotherapy, and general medicine.

In the rural community of Queimadas in north-eastern Brazil, a project titled “Love in Action” was inaugurated on 10th June 2017, at which more than 60 medical professionals and volunteers distributed free medicines to the needy. SSIO volunteers also provided dental care and consultations and supplied oral hygiene products. In addition, volunteers distributed at least 100 food parcels containing snacks and juices at the event.
