True to the tradition in Zone 8 of the SSIO, Sathya Sai volunteers held an international healthcare and service camp in the Leningrad region of northwest Russia between 5th and 15th August 2015, to provide medical, social and educational assistance. About 140 SSIO members from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, United Kingdom and Germany came together to serve at this camp, which has been held once or twice a year since 1998. The medical team, consisting of 38 volunteers, treated 1,928 patients and organised mobile teams to visit seven nearby villages to offer medical assistance. The villagers also received free haircuts and cosmetic care. A construction team of 21 volunteers repaired and painted walls and replaced the roof of a home for seniors, and cheerfully worked late into the night to complete the repairs on a hospital. On the educational front, 28 teachers conducted 93 lessons in human values for 1,022 children. The volunteers organised festivals, workshops and meetings and discussed healthy lifestyles with teenage youth. They also distributed 120 packages of necessary supplies to needy families and held a nice concert in the end.
