Service to At-Risk Youth in Thailand

On 10th June 2018, 25 SSIO volunteers organised semi-annual service activities at the Good Shepherd Sisters’ Home, which caters to about 70 at-risk young girls. The evening began with devotional singing, followed by a Thai dance programme by the residents. The residents, nuns, staff and volunteers then enjoyed a delicious dinner of freshly-baked pizza, French fries, donuts, Thai noodles and pudding. Read More

Adopt a Village Programme in Thailand

Members of the SSIO in Thailand organised village service as part of a village adoption programme. Volunteers packed and distributed care packages of rice, oil, sugar, noodles, milk, cookies and diapers to 18 families and needy people in the village. SSIO members visited four former employees of the local Sathya Sai School who had been injured in a road accident, to comfort them. The volunteers also accompanied a local building contractor to take measurements for three houses scheduled to be built in the initial phase of the village adoption programme.

Blood Donation Drive by Ladies Wing in Canada

On 17th April 2018, as part of Aradhana Mahotsavam Day (April 24th) observances, honouring the sacred memory of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the Service Wing and Ladies Wing of the SSIO of Canada, Region 1, organised a region-wide blood donation drive in Mississauga, Ontario. Despite inclement weather, 17 volunteers donated blood at the Canadian Blood Services Heartland Town Centre. Read More

For more than two decades, SSIO volunteers have served fresh hot meals to the needy in Tokyo.
