SSSIO volunteers in Mauritius participated in the White Cane Safety Day – which coincides with Avatar Declaration Day – by distributing white canes to visually impaired children at the Louis Lagesse Trust Fund in Beau Bassin on October 17, 2024. The event was a unique encounter with children who had enhanced their senses. On Avatar Declaration Day, volunteers participated in a sensitization march led by a Police Band, and white canes were distributed to adults. The day ended with chanting Sri Rudram and devotional singing to honor the divine Guru, Bhagawan Baba. It emphasizes that service to one’s fellow men is an offering to God when done in an unselfish and dedicated spirit.
