The 16th Summer Family Camp took place in Russia’s Ural region, bringing together 42 participants, including SSSIO members, children, and members of the local community. Centered around the theme ‘Elements of the Universe,’ the camp continued the spiritual learning begun at the Winter Camp’s School of Divine Magic. Over five days, attendees focused on ‘cleansing’ the five key elements—Ether, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth—through sensory experiences, creative activities, and lessons led by symbolic ‘professors’ representing each element.
Daily activities included chanting the sacred Om, craft work, acts of selfless service like kitchen help and cleaning, storytelling, and celebrating the colorful festival of Holi. A highlight was ‘Self-Government Day,’ when the children took charge of running the camp, teaching younger participants, preparing meals, and leading evening bhajans.
The camp’s final day involved a 6-km hike to connect with the earth, along with reflections on love as the ‘sixth element,’ emphasizing its importance in life. The event ended with joyful sharing, performances, and heartfelt thanks to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba for the opportunity to grow spiritually, serve with dedication, and strengthen the spirit of love and unity.
