In July 2025, by Swami’s divine grace, members of SSSIO Australia from every region came together to honor National Tree Day and the sacred occasion of Guru Poornima. With hearts full of gratitude to Mother Earth, Sai devotees planted nearly 3,000 native trees, shrubs, and plants across the country. In Western Australia, SSSIO members joined the City of Bayswater’s planting at Bardon Park on Guru Poornima, dedicating the service to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The event carried special meaning as First Nations elders shared their deep spiritual connection with the land, enriching the experience with cultural wisdom and reverence for nature. On National Tree Day, July 27, SSSIO members across the country participated in Planet Ark’s nationwide tree-planting initiative. In New South Wales, 65 devotees joyfully planted 2,500 native plants at North Upjohn Park Reserve to create green spaces, improve air quality, and support wildlife habitats. The day combined service, environmental education, and community building, ending with shared fellowship and gratitude.
In Victoria, the volunteers joined two events. The Melbourne Sai Cen
ter supported a planting drive at Yarra Boulevard in Richmond, planting 100 native trees and shrubs, while the South-East Melbourne Sai Group participated in a large-scale restoration project at Cranbourne West, contributing 300 plants to protect the endangered Southern Brown Bandicoot. SSSIO members in Queensland planted 150 trees and shrubs at Glenefer Street Park, while devotees in ACT and Tasmania planted trees and shrubs at home, nurturing their immediate surroundings.
The collective effort of approximately 100 SSSIO members across the nation reflected the unity, dedication, and environmental consciousness that Swami encouraged — a reminder that every act of service, however small, nurtures creation. With every sapling planted, members sowed seeds of love, gratitude, and care for future generations, ensuring that Mother Earth continues to thrive with the love that Swami showered upon all beings.
