On April 17, 2025, the Sathya Sai School of Vila Isabel organized an enriching field trip to the Grajaú Forest Reserve in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to nurture in the children a deep respect for nature and a strong sense of environmental stewardship. This initiative, held in partnership with the Grajaú State Park and supported by the Segurança Presente Public Safety Program, brought together 41 students, accompanied by dedicated educators, volunteers, and environmental advocates.
The students were warmly welcomed by the Park’s technical team, who guided them through an engaging educational experience. They explored the local ecosystem, learned about the significance of urban forests, and discovered the vital role of biodiversity in sustaining life. A special highlight was a live demonstration on the role of bees—an interactive session that captivated the young audience and illustrated the essential part these pollinators play in maintaining ecological balance.
The day culminated in a vibrant ecological painting workshop led by the Young Adults of the Sathya Sai Baba Center of Vila Isabel. Using natural pigments such as coffee, the children expressed their creativity while deepening their environmental awareness through art.
With joy and wonder in their eyes, the students experienced a meaningful immersion in nature—reaffirming the core values of care, sustainability, and love for life that lie at the heart of Sathya Sai Education.
