A significant mission, a medical camp spanning five days, was held in Fiji, bringing together 120 health professionals and volunteers from Fiji, New Zealand, and Australia to provide medical care to underserved communities in remote areas. The mission embodied Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings on selfless service to the needy. It began on the main island of Viti Levu and continued for five days on Vanua Levu, where the team treated 2,535 patients in a mobile hospital setup. The healthcare professionals included specialists in pediatrics, cardiology, psychiatry, surgery, and dentistry, among others. Services provided included screenings, blood tests, eye exams, dental care, and various treatments and surgeries.
In addition to delivering medical care, the team conducted interactive teaching sessions for over 80 students and interns and provided hands-on clinical training to medical and nursing students. The communities served expressed deep appreciation for the care provided, and the volunteers found the experience rewarding, demonstrating patience, love, and unity despite the challenges of long journeys and sleepless nights.
Feedback from both patients and volunteers highlighted the positive impact of the mission, with many expressing gratitude for the team’s love and compassion.
