Members of the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Beaverton, Oregon, organized a Toy and Book drive for gently used items for the West Women’s and Children’s Shelter, which serves victims of domestic violence.

The drive quickly expanded into a community-wide effort, resulting in a generous collection of toys and books. The children sorted and packed the toys and books, which were then delivered to the shelter by Sai Center members, along with lunch. The shelter staff, touched by the kindness, sent a note of gratitude for the generous donation.

Parents were thankful that their children participated in a meaningful service that taught them the value of sacrifice, the joy of giving to others, and appreciation for what they have.
