In August 2024, the New South Wales Region of the SSSIO of Australia & Papua New Guinea established a monthly program for providing food and necessities to the homeless in the Sydney area. Since its origin, volunteers of all ages in the larger Sydney area have taken on the preparation and distribution of hot, nutritious meals to those in need.

During March and April, the Region’s Normanhurst and Carlingford Sai Centers served meals, Up & Go breakfast drinks, and water to individuals experiencing homelessness. The meals were carefully prepared and distributed with love, offering not only sustenance but also a human connection and a promise of companionship. SSSIO volunteers also support several food distribution services that help the homeless.

Since the start of the initiative last year, the SSSIO of Sydney has served an estimated 270 meals. Volunteers are thankful for the opportunity to serve alongside the youth and children who represent the next generation, sharing meaningful spiritual and character-building lessons in selfless service.
