SSSIO members attended an Easter service on March 29, 2024, in Auckland, at the Society of Friends Hall, Mt. Eden. The service began with a large cross being carried in and set in place. After the welcome, a few people volunteered to enact various short scenes and read aloud Bible verses. A video of the poignant story of Christ’s crucifixion, followed by the Easter Hallelujah chorus, moved the audience to tears and ponder deeply about the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ. They lit candles at the foot of the cross as a symbol of laying their burdens down. The audience then watched a video of Sai Spiritual Education (SSE) children singing a hymn, followed by three children performing Dona Nobis Pacem, a Latin song for peace. The program included several uplifting hymns traditionally sung at Easter. After the service, everyone enjoyed hot cross buns and light refreshments.
