On April 27, 2024, a Children’s Day celebration was held at the Iztapalapa Community Center in Mexico City, bringing joy and glee to 46 children who attend Saturday classes at the Center. Fourteen volunteers, including two mothers from the community, helped organize the event. The children had a meaningful lesson on the importance of bees in the environment from two beekeepers. They also put their creativity to work as they learned to make beeswax candles. The children enjoyed the outdoors, playing soccer games. Finally, adding to the celebratory spirit, the children were treated to a sumptuous meal and generous gifts of toys, thermos flasks, caramel apples, and bags of candy.
