Members of the Sri Sathya Sai Center of Milwaukee, USA, made beanies (winter hats) for homeless people for the 98th Birthday of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The volunteers wanted to provide warmth and shelter to the homeless by distributing 30 beanies by November 2023. Sai Center members, including children, young adults, and adults, gathered together with great camaraderie to knit the beanies, sharing their skills and showcasing their creations. The project surpassed all expectations, and an amazing 120 beanies were made by Thanksgiving. Volunteers delightfully packed the beanies into six boxes to be delivered to various homeless shelters in the area. Recipients expressed gratitude for the help. One shelter was especially thankful as they were not expecting to provide their residents with winter clothing. The volunteers themselves felt deeply grateful for the small role they played in helping with the community’s needs.
