On June 25, 2023, the Sai Center of Natal hosted a “São João” festival at the Queimadas Municipal School in Taipu, Rio Grande do Norte, as part of the offering for Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s 100th Birthday. The event combined cultural celebrations with service, benefitting the local community, which has been supported by the Sai Center since 2018.
Twelve SSSIO members and eight others participated, beginning their journey from Natal with food baskets and clothes for donation. At the event, 57 basic food baskets and 72 bags of clothing were distributed to pre-registered families. Activities included a prayer, an Education in Human Values session on “Unity,” and a vegetarian lunch shared by around 160 attendees. Traditional São João songs enhanced the festive atmosphere, creating a joyful and inclusive environment. This initiative fostered community spirit, gratitude, and unity, leaving a positive impact on all involved.
