In early May 2018, a three-day conference explored Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s universal tenet: Service to society is the most sacred task. Participants shared about their experiences in rendering service with more than 130 SSIO members from Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Ukraine. The conference opened with seminars hosted by the European Sathya Sai Education (ESSE) Institute, followed by talks highlighting the importance of service. Participants then gathered for roundtable discussions reinforcing Baba’s teachings and exploring ways to strengthen service activities in the local community. The event ended with songs, dances, skits and poems celebrating Russia’s multinational culture and instilling love for service in all who were present.
