SSIO volunteers organised a comprehensive three-day medical and dental camp in Hue Province, in Central Vietnam, 9th–11th August 2017. SSIO members from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam, including seven doctors, three dentists, and nine general volunteers, selflessly served needy and destitute patients at three of the most underserved rural villages in the province. During the three-day event, volunteers conducted 812 medical consultations in general medical outpatient care, ENT, ophthalmology, and dermatology. In addition, the volunteers performed 262 dental procedures, deworming sessions for children, counselling sessions, and minor procedures. Medical and dental specialists delivered public health talks on general hygiene, healthy living, oral cancer awareness, dental hygiene, and proper techniques of brushing teeth. Service providers and recipients alike were grateful for the opportunity to interact at the camp.
