In honour of Avatar Declaration Day, on 20th October 2014, 161 volunteers from 12 Sathya Sai Centres and Groups in Germany served more than 200 refugee children, who had been forced to abandon their country and live in asylums. Sathya Sai members visited refugee shelters in their respective neighbourhoods and organised plays, music, or handicrafts for the children, and arranged picnics in the countryside. Other Sathya Sai Centres collected and shipped much-needed children’s materials to Sathya Sai Centres in two impoverished eastern European countries.
