On 3rd and 4th  May 2014, nearly 800 devotees on the East coast of the United States celebrated Easwaramma day in two separate events in New Jersey and Washington DC.

Over 300 devotees from the Sathya Sai Centres in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York came together to pay homage to Mother Easwaramma at the Robertsville Elementary School in Morganville, New Jersey.  The theme for the event was “Revere Elders, Revere Sai,” and the programme included devotional singing by Sai Spiritual Education children, a treasure hunt, a panel discussion, team building games, and musical programmes by children. Both SSE children and senior devotees participated in the panel discussion, which highlighted the importance of developing good habits at a young age, and of expressing gratitude and respecting parents.

On 4th May 2014, more than 470 Sathya Sai devotees from Virginia and Maryland celebrated Easwaramma Day with a children’s event. The younger Sathya Sai children marched in colourful costumes, reciting multi-faith prayers, and the older children sang lively bhajans while conducting Nagar Sankirtan (procession with devotional singing).  The children participated in a lively quiz based on Bhagawan’s teachings, held a bhajan competition, and enacted silent skits based on incidents from Bhagawan’s life. Bhagawan’s major humanitarian projects in the fields of education, medical care and water supply were highlighted with facts and anecdotes. Other activities included a rap song on values, humorous quotes by Bhagawan, art work by the younger children and poems by the older children.
