Aradhana Mahotsavam in Italy

In observance of Sathya Sai Aradhana Mahotsavam, 30 volunteers from various Sathya Sai Centres and Groups in the Emilia Romagna-Marche-Toscana regions offered hot meals on 24th April 2016 to more than 120 needy people. Lunch and dinner were both served at a soup kitchen in Faenza, in the province of Ravenna, Emilia Romagna, where Sathya Sai volunteers have served hot meals for more than 17 years. Additionally, 150 double packets of food and 108 hygiene kits were distributed to families selected by the local government agency for social services, and 25 extra packets of food were distributed to large families. The Mayor of Faenza personally called the President of the local Sathya Sai Centre to thank them for the selfless service.

Aradhana Mahotsavam in Romania

The Romanian Sathya Sai group has been in existence for more than 25 years. To observe Sathya Sai Baba’s life and message this year, a small group of Romanian Sathya Sai devotees held regular weekly devotional music sessions. In addition, every morning, before work, they held a short meeting invoking Sathya Sai Baba’s presence and guidance. The group thus gained a deeper understanding of the importance of their spiritual practice, and better appreciated Sathya Sai Baba’s eternal and universal message. They were thankful for the time spent with Bhagawan and for all He has given.

Meals for the Homeless in Stockholm

The Stockholm Centre held bhajans on 23rd April 2016. Afterwards, eight SSIO members prepared vegetarian meals for the homeless. On 24th April, six volunteers served lunch to homeless people at the non-profit association, Ny Gemenskap. The simple meal of salad and pasta was enjoyed by many guests who returned for seconds and asked for food to be packed for taking with them.

European Managers Conference in Italy

The Institutes of Sathya Sai Education (ISSEs) of South Europe and North Europe jointly hosted a second European Managers Conference on the weekend of 9th–10th April 2016. Despite ongoing strikes in Greece and Italy, 35 business managers and interested parties from Greece, Italy, Norway, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Croatia, and South Africa came together at Mother Sai, a conference centre of the SSIO of Italy, in Milan. Easter Dinner for the Homeless in Verona, Italy

Sathya Sai volunteers from the Triveneto region served Easter dinner to the homeless in Verona on 27th March 2016, at a location known as Amici di Paolo Favale (Friends of Paolo Favale). With the cooperation of professional caterers from Milan, 20 volunteers from the Sathya Sai Centres of Conegliano, Mestre, Bolzano, and Verona participated in this service opportunity. Meeting in Mother Sai House in Italy

Families of children participating in the Sai Spiritual Education (SSE) programme in Northern Italy and Canton Ticino in Switzerland attended a meeting at the Mother Sai House, in Varallo Pombia, near Milan, on 13th March 2016. About 33 people came together for this educational event, which began with a universal prayer, human values songs, and an inspirational quote from Sathya Sai Baba. Read More

Educational Programme in Faenza, Italy

On 12th March 2016, 47 people, including 30 children, attended an educational programme at the Sathya Sai Centre of Faenza (Ravenna) in Italy as part of the “Serve The Planet” initiative. The event attracted various ethnic groups, including disadvantaged people of African origin. The initiative was organised by the Educational Wing of the Emilia Romagna-Marche-Toscana region in order to meet the children and their parents who are receiving social services from the municipality of Faenza. In addition, resident families of foreigners who face local challenges, were invited to spend a relaxing afternoon, filled with love and joy. During the afternoon event, 18 members of the local Sathya Sai Centres and Groups led different activities, including group singing and skits. Children were presented with T-shirts with the logo of the initiative and an uplifting quote by Sathya Sai Baba. Clothes were distributed to the parents of the needy children. The guests sang inspiring hymns from their native cultures, bringing the event to a close in an atmosphere of unity and joy.
