Sai Kitchen Seva at Durban, South Africa

The KwaZulu Natal Young Adults of the SSSIO South Africa (SSSIOSA), in collaboration with the Umkomaas Sai Center, supported the Sai Kitchen Seva initiative held over the weekend of February 28–March 1, 2026. On February 28, 17 volunteers, including 4 Young Adults, cleaned and prepared vegetables and procured ingredients for the meals to be cooked the following day.

The next day, 50 volunteers, including 12 Young Adults, participated in the service. The day began with a prayer led by Ms. Vahinie Pillay, International YA Coordinator, and addresses by Mrs. Jenny Maharaj, SSSIOSA National Council President, and Mr. Ravith Sewnarayan, Umkomaas Sai Center President. Uplifting bhajans also created a joyful atmosphere. Over 540 meals were prepared and distributed in Umkomaas, Umzinto, and nearby informal settlements. Young Adults helped by coordinating, preparing, and distributing the meals. They also helped to organize and participate in the bhajans and offered financial support.
