On August 26, 2022, at a Special Session, the Federal Senate of Brazil, the Upper House of the National Congress, honored the contribution of the Institute of Sathya Sai Education (ISSE) of Brazil for its tireless efforts in developing values-based education in Brazil over the last 22 years.

With the first Sathya Sai School in Brazil being established in 1993, the movement has grown with three schools currently providing human-value based education in three different regions of Brazil.  The principles of Sathya Sai Education in Human Values (SSEHV) deeply inspired a businessman, now Senator Eduardo Girao, who visited Prasanthi Nilayam in 2003. Since then, he has promoted the program widely and even established a school that supports and administers SSEHV.

The special ceremony on August 26th was attended by the Ambassador of India to Brazil, Sri Suresh K Reddy, who spoke of his family’s close ties to Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The former Ecuadorian Minister of Education, Monserrat Creamer, a great admirer of SSEHV, sent a video message, especially for this event.

The highlight of the ceremony was the inspirational story of the ISSE and the SSEHV program narrated beautifully by an animated storyteller, Mrs. Nyedja Gennari. She inspired the audience by highlighting Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings on education, emphasis on character building, and the supreme truth that man’s very nature comes from God.
