At the end of May 2026, members of the SSSIO of Kyrgyzstan marked the opening of Active Summer with a Zonal Cleanliness Day, cleaning the city park that SSSIO members have cleaned since 2022. A group of three members, along with their families and friends, first joined a Zonal teleconference to greet other teams before starting the cleanup. Volunteers noted a marked improvement in public awareness and cleanliness. Where the park previously had substantial litter, this year’s collection amounted to a fraction of that amount. Passersby watched as the group, consisting mostly of elderly members, gathered the trash into bins, an example that visibly moved some younger onlookers. Afterward, the team fed the park’s squirrels and pigeons, extending care to the local wildlife as well as the environment.
