From 29th to 31st March 2019, 33 SSIO volunteers from eight countries participated in an Eco Bootcamp in Warsaw, Poland. Over the three days, the attendees participated in a range of interactive workshops, short talks, nature walks and devotional singing (bhajans). The Bootcamp allowed attendees to share ideas and experiences and connect with one another.

On the first day of the camp, the participants delved into the teachings of Sathya Sai on God, Nature and Man, as well as the science and spiritual aspects of climate change. Human values and Ceiling on Desires were then explored as two core spiritual solutions to climate change. On the second day, the young adults led many practical workshops on how to start and lead eco-projects. By the end of the day, participants had developed their own ideas for environmental projects and acquired skills to implement them. The day concluded with a bonfire and bhajans to commemorate Earth Hour.

The final day included a session on public outreach and community engagement, with a focus on growing urban gardens, creating unity games, and meditative walks in nature. Many participants took lead in sharing their ideas during the workshops. They left the camp energized and motivated to take further action in their own lives, their Sai Centres and their communities, and eager to make the Eco Bootcamp an annual event!
